Birmingham & District Premier League

Welcome to Berkswell CC

Founded in 1896, Berkswell Cricket Club has enjoyed an impressive journey over the past 15+ years. Under the guidance of Dominic Ostler, Nick James and Neil Dexter, the club rose from village‑level cricket to becoming Premier Division champions of the Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League (BDPCL) in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021. Although 2025 brought the setback of relegation to Premier Division 2, we are energised for the future. With Chris Whittock stepping in as our new 1st XI captain for 2026, we are excited to regroup, rebuild and push for a return to the top.

Berkswell Cricket Club is proud to offer high‑quality cricket in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Our teams regularly feature county and international players, while still providing opportunities for cricketers of all abilities and genders. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Balsall Common, the club offers a fantastic match‑day atmosphere for both players and spectators.

In recent years, we have placed a strong emphasis on developing youth cricket. With dedicated coaching and a supportive approach, we aim to inspire and nurture the next generation of talented players. If your children are interested in joining our junior section, please visit our junior member portal at https://membermojo.co.uk/berkswelljuniors or contact our junior membership secretary, Christine Harrison, at harrison_c@hotmail.co.uk .

We are also proud of our thriving Women and Girls section, led by our Head of Women’s Cricket, Sarah Ginn. Our women’s teams compete in the Midlands League—the largest women’s league in the country and home to many current England players. The Women’s 1st XI plays in the Premier Division, with the 2nd XI competing in Division 2. For any enquiries about Women’s or Girls’ cricket, please contact Sarah Ginn at ginnsarah@gmail.com  or  07801 627921.
